Lustleigh, Dartmoor National Park

Lustleigh is a quintessential English village, situated inside Dartmoor National Park, that regularly features in The Times & The Telegraph Top 10 Villages in England. Lustleigh is the perfect place to stay on Dartmoor. There are a huge variety of walks, from our door, to suit every age and ability. It’s also easy to reach the moor.

Closer to home, The Lustleigh Cleave walk is a very enjoyable 5 mile walk through beautiful woodlands and alongside rivers.

This part of Dartmoor is one of the more densely wooded so there are lots of beautiful woodland paths, rivers and streams. This means wildlife is a feature here and there are many varieties of birds to enjoy. From circling buzzards to owls hooting in the night, this is a paradise for nature lovers.

For entertainment, there are plenty of local events and, for the size of Lustleigh, our village hall has an impressive range of things going on. In the summer, particularly, there are markets, exhibitions, fairs and shows in all our surrounding villages. There are links to more information about the biggest of these on our Home page.

The Cleave Pub Lustleigh

We are extremely lucky to be living in Lustleigh. Not only is it a beautiful village, it also has an excellent pub “The Cleave”  which is very popular with walkers and locals alike. It’s less than a 10 minute walk from our Bed and Breakfast. It serves well priced extremely tasty food, a range of beers and ciders, and has a wonderful beer garden. Steve, the landlord, has instigated lots of measures to keep customers safe and confident including full table service and a one way system.

Please call ahead to book a table, The Cleave gets very busy. Opening times may differ in the winter, so please check the website.
